On June 27, 2018, my brother Justin and I hiked the Rampart Ridge Loop at Mount Rainier. The trail itself is rated as moderate with plenty of elevation gain and switchbacks up a mountain side. Most of the trail is entirely within the forest, but once you summit Rampart Ridge the views of Mount Rainier are pretty breathtaking. I thought the hike was worth it and just peaceful overall. Nothing too exciting compared to other Rainier hikes, but more enjoyable on a weekday morning. Watch out for the bugs near the Wonderland trail!
