About Chase

My writing

I'm a 26-year-old creator based in the Pacific Northwest. I believe anything is possible, and I'm working my hardest to achieve my dreams.

I'm a storyteller, and I strive to tell compelling, personal stories through all aspects of my work. Every individual and setting is unique, and I share these perspectives through my writing, videos, and photos.

I have a passion for writing that's been growing since the age of 9. I wrote many short stories throughout elementary school, and my ambitions to writer larger and more complex novels led me to drop my childhood idea of becoming a doctor. Throughout junior high school, I wrote a few attempts at novels, none of which turned out.

By high school, I participated in my first National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) event with an early draft of my epic fantasy, The Enchanter's Retribution (then-titled Prophecy of Euphinor). I also joined the school newspaper as a reporter, eventually earning my role as co-editor-in-chief my senior year and leading the paper to a 10th place finish at a national best of show competition.

After a brief stint pursuing programming in college, where I continued my success in journalism, I dropped out of school and moved to Utah for a few years with my family. Since then, I've worked in content marketing, specializing in writing blog articles, SEO, and social media.

In all this time, I've never abandoned my dream of being a published author.

My photography

I fell in love with photography while in high school. As part of being a reporter for the student newspaper, I had to take photos to accompany my articles. We had these Nikon DSLRs, and I was just thrown into the fire. I had to learn how to work them after much trial and error.

However, this experience led me to start borrowing my dad's Nikon while hiking at Mount Rainier National Park. I wanted to document my life and my adventures, to create memories that I could share with others. First, this was only with family on Facebook. Later, I started an Instagram to showcase my work.

Since finding photography in 2013, I've taken tens of thousands of photos during my adventures.
